Teacher Trainings for Continuing Education

Early childhood education professionals have a lot of training requirements to keep up with! MN Child Care Health Consultants offers several services to support child care staff including staff trainings. We offer the following staff trainings with this in mind. Each 2-hour training is provided on-site at your location. Sarah is a certified Content Expert through the Minnesota Center for Professional Development and all of the trainings we offer are approved for continuing education.

OSHA Class Description

Recognize how state and federal OSHA guidelines including bloodborne pathogens and Employee Right to Know apply to child care staff. Explore bloodborne pathogen modes of transmission and identify how to help prevent and protect staff and understand the importance of an Exposure Control Plan. Examine other occupational hazards such as back injuries, chemicals and contagious illnesses. Determine how to prevent and manage illness and promote overall staff health including the effect of stress on staff and ultimately children. New Changes from the 2017 Legislative Session require licensed child care centers to comply with safe handling and disposal of bodily fluids. Centers are now required by licensing to have policies and procedures around this and ensure all staff are trained during staff orientation and at least once per calendar year. Our OSHA training covers this information!
