The purpose of the Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) class is to protect employees from exposure to human blood and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM). Bloodborne pathogens (BBP) are pathogenic microorganisms that are present in human blood; these and other potentially infectious materials (OPIM) can cause disease.
